![]() ![]() The Bad Guy Wins: Plankton guesses the exact number of bun seeds, including one stuck to the inside of the jar lid, thus he wins the patty.Mind you, considering what a cheapskate Krabs is, he probably did this on purpose to try and prevent anyone from actually winning. Krabs gives for the contest, would be physically impossible to do so in real life, so most contests have the winner guessing closest to the correct count. Artistic License: Guessing the right amount of objects, like the rule Mr.Krabs is determined to stop him from getting it. Plankton wins a Krabby Patty in a guessing contest, but Mr. Tempting Fate: "I can't say no to my little Gare-Bear!" Turns out he has to.Sudden Soundtrack Stop: When SpongeBob is trying to say no to Gary, Gary bribes him by showing the picture he got Gary at the pound the sponge is briefly flattered with a happy tune to match, but once he realizes what's going on, the music suddenly stops as the sponge finally begins to give his word."Shaggy Dog" Story: After everything SpongeBob goes through, Gary stops bothering him by just being told "no.".Gary seems to want Snail Bites even after they're discontinued, but once SpongeBob tells him no, he stops, hinting he was testing SpongeBob's inability to be stern. Overly-Long Gag: Gary constantly meowing for more Snail Bites. Then again, Gary possibly made SpongeBob go on this wild goose chase just so he'll be sterner.įactory worker: We're closed! Do I have to spell it out for you? C-S-L-O-S-Z-E-D. "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: The whole plot of the episode never would've happened if SpongeBob just told Gary "no," which he eventually does. ![]() Continuity Nod: This wasn't the first time SpongeBob had trouble saying no.Even Gary tries to bribe him with a picture of the time SpongeBob first got him from the pound before SpongeBob finally sees through and tells him no. Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: SpongeBob tries multiple times to deny the snail bites for Gary, but is continuously tempted to do so.It's only through Patrick's help that he does so, which in turn finally makes Gary stop. Cannot Spit It Out: SpongeBob cannot bring himself to say no to his " widdle Gare-Bear", fearing it'll hurt his feelings. The Snail Bites commercial all they say is "Snail Bites!" over and over.Big "NO!": Gary does one, in the form of a meow, when he and SpongeBob learn there are no snail bites left in the world. There isn't any good explanation for this, but perhaps someone quickly moved Rocky since contestants are normally expected to cross the finish line. The only hole in this theory is how Rocky crossed the finish line, since Rocky is an inanimate object. However, since this would disqualify Squidward, the only racer left is Rocky, meaning Patrick would have to be the winner. Since Squidward doesn't think Rocky counts as an opponent, he also steps onto the racetrack. After Gary gets injured from going too fast, SpongeBob runs onto the racetrack, and we hear the announcer saying that SpongeBob is disqualified for stepping onto the track. The show doesn't explain why this happened, but my theory is that the real reason Rocky won is because SpongeBob and Squidward were both disqualified. No one takes this seriously, but at the end of the episode Rocky ends up crossing the finish line and winning the race while everyone was looking away. However, Patrick also enters the race with his pet rock, Rocky. In "The Great Snail Race", an episode from season 3 of SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob and Squidward both enter a snail race where SpongeBob enters his pet snail Gary and Squidward enters his pet Snelly. ![]()
